Internal Sales Support

Safegard Systems are looking to recruit for an internal sales position at their Bray offices who will be able to make their own decisions once trained. The right candidate must have a pleasant and willing attitude but most importantly must be able to work accurately under pressure.

Position Summary: 

  • Dealing with day to day telephone & e-mail sales enquiries
  • Low level sales technical advice
  • Interpretation of technical specifications and raising quotations accordingly
  • Data entry of all sales quotations and communications into Infor M3 ERP database
  • Order processing incl logistics oversight in and out

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Dealing with email and telephone quotes/queries from customers
  • Supporting the external sales team
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Delivering all aspects of customer care in line with Company ethos.

Qualifications/Education 

Essential:

  • College graduate
  • Good telephone manner
  • Work on own initiative
  • Self-motivated
  • Flexible in work attitude

Desirable:

  • HVAC systems and products
  • Construction industry experience
  • AutoCad trained

Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Access, Powerpoint etc. and if would be VERY beneficial to have knowledge of Infor M3 ERP and Sage.

 

Embedded Software Engineer

Safegard Systems, part of the Swegon Group, is looking to recruit an embedded software engineer for their R&D department in their Bray offices.  The candidate will need to be self-motivated, dynamic, have a good work ethic, be flexible in terms of assigned tasks and be able to work both independently and/or as part of a team.  The primary task of the candidate will be to lead in the full software development life cycle of network products.  However, the candidate will also be required to provide an application engineer support role for existing control systems.  Full in-house training will be provided.

 

Key Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will primarily be responsible for the design, coding, unit testing and documentation of new software components or enhancements to existing software components.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software design.
  • Proficient in C and C++ and ARM Cortex processors, and RTOS.  Safegard currently use the STM32F100 and STM32L431 processors.
  • Knowledge of fieldbus protocols such as LonWorks, Modbus, or BACnet is desirable, but not essential.
  • System testing and debugging using JTAG.
  • Good hardware knowledge; ability to read and interpret schematics, understanding of I2C and SPI buses.
  • Participate in design and code review process with other R&D members.
  • Collaborate with our service engineers and service personnel to debug and resolve software issues in the field.
  • Provide production support when necessary.
  • There may be occasions when it is necessary to travel to a customer site to debug a software issue or attend a technical meeting with our overseas and domestic technical contractors.
  • Interface with design engineers to plan and develop new products.

 

 

Service Engineer / Coordinator

Role:

Predominately office based in our Bray office, with occasional travel primarily throughout Ireland.  You will be tasked with negotiating, quoting and coordinating maintenance activities for the Maintenance/Service department and be technically competent to carry out occasional scheduled maintenance visits if/when needed.
Your role will offer support and cover for our field service engineer and in house control system project management team.
A technical and analytical mindset is required with hands on understanding of Electro-Mechanical and PC based control systems.  Full training on our products will be given.
Self-motivated and customer focused, you will be required to work on your own initiative to solve on-site problems.
PC literate and MS Office proficient to create, complete and log site visit reports 

Duties:
  • Scheduling and co-ordination of Planned Preventative Maintenance Contracts / Callouts
  • Preparation and issue of contract quotes, remedial / repair quotes and site reports etc.
  • Site Surveys, Negotiation & Sale of Maintenance contracts
  • Project management of control system orders.
  • Carry out planned maintenance visits & reactive service visits across sites in Ireland and occasionally UK / Europe

Requirements:

  • Electrical/IT qualification – trade / Cert / diploma / degree
  • Experience of site work / reactive & preventative maintenance 
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Comfortable in a customer facing, site meeting environment
  • Willing to travel
  • Occasional out of hours work
  • Self-motivated
  • Good computer & Windows knowledge/skills - Word Access Excel
  • Basic AutoCad an advantage
  • General BAS/BMS/Fire Alarm knowledge
  • Full clean driving licence essential
  • Safe pass holder/ MEWP / Working at heights an advantage
  • Full product training will be given for all roles.
