V3 Smoke/Fire Damper Control & Monitoring System

The Safegard V3 automatic smoke/fire damper control system is a completely modular and flexible computerised system which operates and continuously monitors smoke/fire dampers. Each damper is graphically represented in the open, closed, travelling or fault state. Manual damper override is via touch screen keyboard/mouse operation. Inputs and Outputs to/from the system are via the Safegard DI8O4 devices, each providing 8 off inputs and 4 off outputs to/from the panel PC. Network shape and length is highly flexible and extendable utilising the Safegard Network Router devices. Software based zoning and grouping of devices allows complex multiple ‘cause and effect’ schedules to be programmed.

 Safegard 60 / 120 Intelligent Damper Control & Monitoring System

The Safegard 60/120 system consists of a Panel PC, UPS and pre-loaded software. The system communicates with damper interfaces to provide intelligent control and monitoring of motorised dampers and monitoring of manual fire dampers. The data network cabling enables substantial reduction in costs when compared with conventional systems. The digital inputs and output device (DI804) is accommodated within the panel enclosure.

The Panel PC is supplied with Safegard 60/120 software and operates on an embedded platform, which is extremely user friendly. The server architecture delivers new benefits such as reduced commissioning time, ease of configuration, simplified operation, full diagnostics for system and device integration along with optional automatic scheduled damper testing.

SCMP Smoke/Fire Damper Control & Monitoring System

Safegard Electro-mechanical panel based system providing control and continuous monitoring of smoke/fire dampers. The Safegard CMP system is a purposely manufactured panel to meet specific customer requirements for zone operation and continuous monitoring of smoke/fire dampers. Each panel shall be designed to suit project requirements. Each damper to have individual indication to provide open and closed status via the damper motor auxiliary switches. Zonal control provided via a keyswitch operation or a fire alarm input.

 

SEMP Smoke/Fire Damper Control & Monitoring System

Safegard Electro-mechanical panel based system providing control and continuous monitoring of smoke/fire dampers. Available off the shelf in three sizes, up to 10, up to 20 & up to 30 off dampers. Each damper to have individual indication to provide open and closed status via the damper motor auxiliary switches. Zonal control provided via a keyswitch operation or a fire alarm input.

Smoke/fire dampers having galvanised spigotted casing and St/St blades & side seals. Blades incorporate a synthetic seal to ensure low closed blade leakage and are fully compliant with the latest International, European & BS standards (ISO10294-1, EN1366-2 & BS ISO 10294-1) & the old BS standard BS476 part 20. Complies with Class A, B & C of DW144. Operating total system pressure ≤ 1500 Pascals and duct velocities ≤ 15m/s. Each damper to be fitted with expansion/installation Hevac frame or stud wall expansion/installation frame c/w cleats where required on damper schedule.

Actionair Smoke/Shield utilises Mode 5/6 Belimo BF-T based fire safety actuators having unique proportional torque control, snaplock connection and guaranteed elevated temperature operation. Each actuator has two built in, non adjustable, auxiliary switches for connection to a Safegard smoke/fire damper control & monitoring system. Each actuator has a dual failsafe pre-wired electro thermal fusible link rated at 72°C for internal & external duct temperature sensing and is complete with a manual external actuator test switch.

Safegard Smoke/Fire Dampers – Safegard SFD-EN

Safegard SFD-EN series, having galvanised spigotted casing and st/st aerodynamic interlocking blades incorporating synthetic seal with steel blade end bearings and peripheral gasketting. Fully compliant with the latest International, European & BS standards (ISO10294-1, EN1366-2 & BS ISO 10294-1) & the old BS standard BS476 part 20. Complies with Class A, B & C of DW144. Operating total system pressure ≤ 1500 Pascals and duct velocities ≤ 15m/s. Each damper to be fitted with expansion/installation Hevac frame or stud wall expansion/installation frame where required on damper schedule.

Safegard smoke/fire dampers utilise  Belimo BF-T based fire safety series actuators and the actuator / damper connection is by means of "Snaplock" drive interface mechanism to ensure positive control and guaranteed elevated temperature operation. Each actuator has two built in, non adjustable, auxiliary switches for connection to a Safegard smoke/fire damper control & monitoring system. Each actuator has a dual failsafe pre-wired electro thermal fusible link rated at 72°C for internal & external duct temperature sensing and is complete with a manual external actuator test switch.

Fire

Fire Dampers (FD’s) - Fire/Shield

Actionair Fire/Shield 101 series, having galvanised spigotted casing, St/St blades partially within the airstream & St/St side seals. Each damper has unique self latching fusible link mechanism rated at 72°C. Compliant with BS476 Part 20 and Class A, B & C of DW144. Operating total system pressure ≤ 1000 Pascals and duct velocities ≤ 20m/s.  Each damper to be fitted with expansion/installation Hevac frame or stud wall expansion/installation frame c/w cleats where required on damper schedule. For St/St blades out of the airstream on dampers > 250mm in height, specify Actionair Fire/Shield 201 series.

Actionair dampers are LPCB approved (Loss Prevention Certification Board) meaning 3rd party regular re-assessment/audit testing to ensure quality of product & service are maintained.

FD’s are designed for applications in normal dry filtered air systems and should be tested at least annually. FD’s situated in dust laden and similar atmospheres should be tested more frequently, all in accordance with BS9999 Test Frequency.

Due to the fact that these dampers have to be physically released and reset, particular attention should be paid to access which should be available from both sides of the FD. Also, it is very awkward to reset dampers when they are less than 200mm Sq or Circ and therefore automatic Smoke Fire Dampers (SFD’s) should be fitted.

It should be noted that Safegard Systems always recommends the use of SFD’s as FD’s do not prevent the spread of smoke and they are impractical to regularly test.

Fire Dampers (FD’s) - FB

Actionair FBL series, having galvanised spigotted casing and galvanised blades partially within the airstream. Each damper has a chain bar type fusible link mechanism rated at 72°C. Compliant with BS476 Part 20 and Class A, B & C of DW144. Operating total system pressure ≤ 1000 Pascals and duct velocities ≤ 20m/s.  Each damper to be fitted with expansion/installation Hevac frame or stud wall expansion/installation frame c/w cleats where required on damper schedule. For blades out of the airstream on dampers > 250mm in height, specify Actionair FBH series.

Door Dampers – Trans/Shield

Actionair Trans/Shield stainless steel sliding palte dampers are designed for air transfer through fire rated doors and dry wall partitions providing up to 2 hour fire protection. Available in 5 off nominal sizes c/w manual or electrical release. Compliant with BS476 Part 20.

Fire Dampers (FD’s) – Safegard FDA

Safegard FD series, having galvanised spigotted casing and galvanised blades partially within the airstream. Each damper has a straight bar fusible link rated at 72°C. Compliant with BS476 Part 20 and Class A, B & C of DW144. Operating total system pressure ≤ 1500 Pascals and duct velocities ≤ 12.5m/s.  Each damper to be fitted with expansion/installation Hevac frame or stud wall angle frame where required on damper schedule. For blades out of the airstream specify FDB.

FD’s are designed for applications in normal dry filtered air systems and should be tested at least annually. FD’s situated in dust laden and similar atmospheres should be tested more frequently, all in accordance with BS9999 Test Frequency.

Actionair Air/Shield series aerofoil, having galvanised steel flanged casing and stainless steel aerofoil opposed blades. Each damper has a manual push and turn knob with locking mechanism. Complies with Class A, B & C of DW144. Operating total system pressure ≤ 1000 Pascals and duct velocities ≤ 12m/s.

Volume Control Dampers – Air/Shield series Aeroseal

Actionair Air/Shield series aeroseal, having galvanised steel flanged casing and stainless steel aerofoil opposed blades c/w synthetic seal and stainless steel side seals. Each damper has a manual quadrant with locking mechanism. Complies with Class A, B & C of DW144. Operating total system pressure ≤ 1000 Pascals and duct velocities ≤ 12m/s.

Actionair Series Circulair/Balance Dampers

Circulair/balance dampers comprise of a single 1.2 galvanised steel blade and 0.7 mm galvanized steel case complete with manual quadrant control. Casing leakage conforms to DW144 Class C up to 1000Pa.

Volume Control Dampers (AHU) - Energy/Shield 35

Actionair Energy/Shield 35 series, having galvanised steel flanged casing and galvanised steel triple-vee opposed blades. Manual or motorised options available. Complies with Class  C of DW144. Operating total system pressure ≤ 1000 Pascals and duct velocities ≤ 10m/s.
